WHAT IS ONS?

Eating and drinking less and losing weight is very common during cancer and cancer treatment. Your healthcare professional may refer you to a dietitian who will work with you to identify what is causing the problem and give you individualised information about how to manage eating and weight problems. If changes to eating and drinking ordinary food are not enough to help you, you may be advised to take an oral nutritional supplement, also known as a medical nutrition supplement.

If you have been advised to follow a special diet for another medical condition, such as heart disease, diabetes or renal failure, or have a colostomy or ileostomy, the information on this website may not be suitable for you.
